
Prof. HU Baijing, born in Panshi, Jilin Province in March 1976, PhD, PhD Supervisor, Executive Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, Renmin University of China (RUC). He currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the RUC University Council and Vice President. Other positions he holds include Deputy Director of the Steering Committee for Journalism and Communication Teaching of the Ministry of Education and Vice Chairperson of the Communication Committee of the Chinese Association for History of Journalism and Communication. He has also been appointed as a Young Changjiang Scholar by the Ministry of Education in 2017.
Prof. Hu is mainly engaged in research and teaching of Communication Studies and Public Communication. He teaches Public Communication, Communication and Society, and Introduction to Public Relations. His publications include Persuasion and Identification, Introduction to Public Relations (The Second Edition), Crisis Communication Management (The Third Edition), and History of Chinese Public Relations, etc. He has translated Crystallizing Public Opinion, Courtier to the Crowd: Ivy Lee and the Development of Public Relations in America, Propaganda and Public Relations. He has won many awards for teaching and research excellence, including the second prize of National Education and Teaching Achievement Award, the first prize of Beijing Education and Teaching Achievement Award, the first and third prize of University Research Achievement Award of the Ministry of Education, Beijing Outstanding Young Teachers Award (2019), Baosteel Outstanding Teachers Award, Fok Ying-Tong Outstanding Young Teachers Award, Ten Model Teachers Award of Renmin University of China.
