The final of the 13th “JD Cup” RUC Student “Entrepreneurship Star” Competition (referred to as the JD Cup) was held in the Century Hall of RUC on the afternoon of March 15. Ye Kangtao, Vice President of RUC, and Zeng Chen, Vice President of JD.com attended the event and delivered speeches.

Sponsored by JD.com, the JD Cup is jointly organized by the Department of Enrollment and Career of RUC, the Institute of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, the Cultural Science and Technology Park, and the Alumni Work Office, and supported by the Youth Development Center of RUC. Since the first session held in 2009, the JD Cup has received more than 800 entries from nearly 3,000 students, representing almost 100 colleges and universities. It has become a well-known entrepreneurial event for college students in Beijing and its influence radiates across the country. The competition invites heads of well-known investment institutions, entrepreneurs, investors, and entrepreneurial mentors to serve as judges.

Ye Kangtao said in his speech that the all students should strive to be “the pioneer with firm ideals and beliefs for the country”, “the vanguard with knowledge and innovativeness” and “the society pillar with theories and practices” to open a new chapter in the high-quality development of school careers in the new era.

Zeng Chen reviewed the long-term in-depth cooperation between JD.com and RUC in his speech and expressed his encouragement and support for students’ innovation and entrepreneurship. It is hoped that the contestants can strengthen their dreams and stay focused to create projects that meet the needs of the market so that they can bring a difference to the future world.

Afterwards, the 15 entrepreneurial teams started their roadshow in turn and took questions from the judges. The leaders of each team gave detailed and comprehensive introduction to their companies, products, and teams from different perspectives. In the face of the intense competitive atmosphere and the professional questions from the judges and experts, the teams competed fiercely in their strategic thinking, innovation ability, and speech delivery, which fully demonstrated that the competition, as a brand student activity of the school, plays an important role in shaping the innovative consciousness of college students, creating entrepreneurial atmosphere, and enriching campus cultural life.

After a comprehensive evaluation by the judges, the Ailesen Intelligent Team won the “Entrepreneurship Star”, the highest award of the competition; another four teams won the “Best Creative Award”, “Best Teamwork Award”, “Most Entrepreneurial Potential Award”, “Most Growth Value Award”, and 10 other teams won the outstanding award.
