Strategic Cooperation Agreement Reached Between RUC Law School and No.1 Intermediate People’s Court

In accordance with the requirement of the Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China and Beijing Municipal Higher People’s Court to strengthen the communication and cooperation between courts and law schools and in order to further advance the exchange of talents and resources, RUC Law School recently signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with No.1 Intermediate People’s Court in an attempt to develop long-term, stable, and normalized cooperation between the two sides. Many high-officials from No.1 Intermediate People’s Court attended the signing ceremony, among them are Ma Qiang, President of the court; Tan Jinsong, Vice President of the court; Li Xiaolong, Director of the office; Chang Jie, head of the Liquidation and Bankruptcy Court and Wang Guoqing, Deputy Director of research. Wang Yi, Vice President of Renmin University of China, Prof. Huang Wenyi, Dean of RUC Law School, Prof. Zhang Yan, Vice Dean of the Law School and Prof. Xu Yangguang met them. The ceremony was hosted by Tan Jinsong.

In the signing ceremony, Ma Qiang, President of the No.1 Intermediate People’s Court, expressed his gratitude to RUC Law School for its care, support and assistance over the past years. He then expressed his hope that the two sides can make even greater contributions in terms of talents cultivation, solutions to difficult cases, and exploration of cutting-edge systems.

Vice President Wang Yi also addressed the meeting. He reviewed the fruitful cooperation between RUC Law School and No.1 Intermediate People’s Court before expressing his confidence to see a much stronger tie between the two sides.

In the end, Tan Jinsong and Huang Wenyi, as representatives of the two sides, signed the agreement. Professors Wang Yi, Huang Wenyi, Zhang Yan and Xu Yangguang were hired as members of the Expert Advisory Board of No.1 Intermediate People’s Court. Going forward, more progress is expected to be seen in talent training, research work, bankruptcy trials, and the frontier of digital jurisprudence.
