On 7 March, Vice President Du Peng met with Michael Braungart, Professor of the Leuphana University Lüneburg and consultant of the headquarters of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The two sides discussed about providing courses on global governance and internship opportunities in international organizations.

Du Peng pointed out that international organizations are crucial to the resolution of global issues and the cultivation of globally competent governance talents. By virtue of the training courses, students from the Renmin University of China have been to the headquarters of the UNIDO for internships since December 2021.

Michael Braungart mentioned that the UNIDO has always been committed to sustainable development and industrial technology advancement. China, as a member of the Council of UNIDO, has conducted cooperation with the Organization for many years. In the future, it is hoped that the two sides will expand cooperation and make greater contribution to the education cause of global governance talents.

After the meeting, Michael Braungart and his delegation visited the school library. Afterward, they had an academic seminar with scholars from the School of Environment and Natural Resources, the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, and the Gaoling School of Artificial Intelligence.
