Interdisciplinary Lecture on Robotics to be Held in RUC

Three teachers from the School of Information Resource Management and the School of Philosophy of Renmin University of China (RUC) will give an interdisciplinary lecture entitled “Dancing with Robots” at 3:45-5:45 p.m. on March 8.

This lecture is the eighth “Mingde Lectures: Interdisciplinary Dialogues” session. The moderator is Liu Wei, Deputy Dean of Mingde College and professor of the School of Philosophy, RUC. The speakers include Yan Hui, professor and Deputy Dean of the School of Information Resource Management, Ren Ming, associate professor of the School of Information Resource Management, and Wang Xiaowei, associate professor of the School of Philosophy. The lecture will be held on campus.

Abstract: The era of great development of intelligent machines is coming. While robot technology brings convenience and surprises to our lives, it may also lead to various changes and even subvert the whole world. Can humans and robots coexist in harmony in the future? Is the robot a loyal servant, or partner, or will it become the master of human beings? Three teachers from the School of Information Resource Management and the School of Philosophy will take you to imagine the future of humans and robots.
