The 20th Anniversary for the Establishment of RUC School of Public Administration and Policy Was Held

On October 23rd, the 20th anniversary for the Establishment of RUC School of Public Administration and Policy, as well as the Forum on the Development of Public Administration Discipline was held in Renmin University of China.

Representatives of international partners sent video messages to congratulate the 20th anniversary of the School of Public Administration and Policy.

 (Professor Michael Barr, Dean of the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, University of Michigan)

 (Professor Johan Woltjer, Dean of the Graduate School of Spatial Sciences, University of Groningen)

 (Professor Holger Magel, Professor Emeritus of Land Management and Land Tenure at the Technical University of Munich, Former Head of Department and Director General of the Bavarian Administration for Rural Development in the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Forestry)

 (Professor Shinji Yamashige, Dean of the School of International and Public Policy at Hitotsubashi University)

Prof. DONG Keyong, the founding Dean of the School of Public Administration and Policy, said that public administration should pay attention to solid construction and provide stable expectations for the people to know the direction of future public policies.

Dr. WANG Shuguang, Ph.D. of Public Policy Class of 2014, made a speech on behalf of the alumni. He looked back on his unforgettable time at RUC and expressed his sense of responsibility in his career.

WAN Jieqiong, an undergraduate student of the Department of Land Management, made a speech on behalf of the students.

Speaking on behalf of the international students, David Barrutia, IMPA Class of 2011, said he gained a lot of knowledge, wisdom and information from the School of Public Administration and Policy.

Twenty faculty and staff were awarded the 20th-anniversary contribution awards.

During the Forum of Public Administration and Policy, participants had in-depth discussions on digital revolution, transformation of government functions, community management, cross-discipline development, disciplinary knowledge system, and discipline innovation. They also reviewed the development of the School of Public Administration and Policy.
