Vice Dean of the University of Pittsburgh visits RUC

On the afternoon of June 19th, Vice President LIU Yuanchun of Renmin University of China met with Ariel Armony, Vice Dean of the University of Pittsburgh, and the two sides held talks on deepening research cooperation and teacher-student exchanges between the two universities.

LIU Yuanchun welcomed the arrival of Ariel Armony. He expressed that Renmin University of China attaches great importance to the internationalization of scientific research and supports the cooperation of teachers and scholars of the two universities in international scientific research. He hopes that through the seed fund cooperation agreement signed this time, the two universities can strengthen cooperation and exchanges in areas such as student exchanges, teacher visits, and scientific research cooperation to promote in-depth research in politics and energy at the two universities, which will foster the emergence of positive development of Sino-U.S. relations.

Ariel Armony expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of Renmin University of China. He briefly introduced the University of Pittsburgh and reviewed the close cooperation between the International Research Institute of the University of Pittsburgh and the School of International Relations of Renmin University. He said that the University of Pittsburgh has unique advantages in international politics, regional studies, sustainable development, and energy, and hopes that the two universities will further deepen cooperation in scientific research based on cooperation in the field of international relations.

After the talks, the two sides signed the “Establishment of a joint seed fund agreement between Renmin University of China and University of Pittsburgh.”

RUC Scientific Research Department Deputy Director LIU Jinlong, RUC International Deputy Director ZHANG Damiao, and International Relations Vice Professor CUI Shoujun attended the signing of the cooperation agreement.
