Dr. WU Xiaoqiu

Dr. WU Xiaoqiu, male, born in February 1959 Jiangxi Province.

Dr. WU got his Doctoral Degree in Economy in July 1990, and became Professor in June 1993. As professor of finance and supervisor of doctor candidates, he also serves as Vice President of Renmin University of China, Executive Vice-President of the Graduate School, Vice Chairman of the University Academic Council, Director of Finance and Securities Institute under the School of Finance and Yangtz Scholar (2007). Other positions he has held include First Vice Chairman of National Steering Committee for Graduate Education in Finance, member of Assessment Group (Applied Economics) of Degree Committee under the State Council, member of Assessment Panel (Disciplines of Administration) of National Fund for Social Sciences, member of Municipal Degree Committee of Beijing, member of the ninth Issuance Examination Committee of China Securities Regulation Commission, member of the Expert Committee for the 13th Five-Year Plan in Finance of the People’s Bank of China, Executive Director of China Finance Society, and Director of China Center for International Economic Exchanges. Dr. WU Xiaoqiu is one of the most influential professors in the study of capital market in China.

As an expert in finance and securities, Dr. WU has published over a hundred articles in key academic journals such as Social Sciences in China, Economic Research Journal, Journal of Financial Research, Finance & Trade Economics, Management World, and Journal of Renmin University of China. He was the author to a number of books, including Analysis on Chinese Capital Market (2006), The Enlightenment of Financial Crisis (2009), The Transformation and Rise of China: Exploring a Road to a Financial Power (2011), China’s Capital Market: Institutional Change and Policy Adjustment (2013), Internet Finance: Logic and Structure (2015), Concerns and Arguments: the Symposium of the Theme Studies in 20 Years of China Capital Market Forum (2016), Stock Market Crisis and the Government Intervention: Let History Tell the Future (2016), and Chinese Securities Companies: An Analysis of Economic Growth, Financial Structure Transformation, and Future Development (Wiley,2014).
