Dr. JIN Nuo
Chairwoman of the University Council

JIN Nuo, female, was born in December 1956 in Beijing, Han Nationality, Communist Party member, JD.

Dr. JIN Nuo started her career in March 1975. She worked in the Educated Youth Farm of Shawan County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from March 1975 to December 1977. From December 1977 to March 1978, she taught at Shanshan Railway Secondary School. From March 1978 to January 1982, she studied as a Chemistry-major at Capital Normal University. From January 1982 to April 1989, she served as a lecturer at both the Department of Chemistry and moral education teaching and research office, Capital Normal University (from July 1986 to September 1988, she studied Ideological and Political Education at the Department of Political Education at the same university.)

From April 1989 to August 1998, she worked at the Department of Ideological Politics, State Education Commission. Her positions included Deputy Chief and Chief of the Teachers’ Division, the Assistant Director, and then Deputy Director of the Department.

From August 1998 to August 2005, she served as the Deputy Director and Director at the Department of Social Science Research and Ideological Politics under the Ministry of Education (from September 1999 to July 2002, she obtained a doctor’s degree in Law at the School of Marxism Studies, Renmin University of China).

From August 2005 to January 2008, she was a member of the Party Committee of the Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and later the Assistant to the Chairwoman of the region (a temporary position). From January 2008 to April 2013, she became Vice-Chairwoman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. She was appointed as the Chairwoman of the University Council of Renmin University of China in April 2013.

Dr. JIN Nuo’s research areas are Marxist theory and ideological education. She has presided over and completed two major research projects: “Strengthening Marxist Ideology and Students’ Ideological Education in Colleges and Universities” supported by National Social Science Foundation and “College Students’ Mental Health Education Research”, a project in the Tenth Five-Year Plan of National Social Science Education. She also participated in many other projects supported by national and provincial Social Science foundations. Her works include Strengthening Marxist Ideology and Students’ Ideological Education in Colleges and Universities, Characteristics and Patterns of Ideological Work on Intellectuals in Colleges and Universities, and so on.
